Oct 2012 – present: Product People Limited, Founder & Director

  • Interim head of the UK-wide product and service manager community at Government Digital Service (GDS); trained 100+ junior civil servants
  • Established the first cross-government product community as interim head of product at UK’s Ministry of Justice Digital team
  • Co-authored and delivered Mind The Product’s first ever product management training course, and original training for BBC, General Assembly, Brainmates, Ofqual, Third Space Learning, Cityswift, Firebrand Training and others
  • Led the team at Tictrac to shorten discovery and delivery cadence from 6+ months to 2 weeks, implement OKRs (objectives & key results); recruited head of product
  • Researched, discovered and delivered a geodata visualisation product for Girl Hub & NIKE Foundation for charities and non-governmental organisations in Rwanda
  • In-house product management coach, and to dozens of private individuals
  • Turned around a failing project team for University of Cambridge Information Services with user research and delivery of storage services for staff and students

  • Turned around loss-making product to £1M revenue stream within 2 years
  • De facto head of product: responsible for three product managers, 20 software products, 40 data products, £1.5M development budget, £56M annual revenue

2008: Cyberview Technology Limited (now part of IGT), Product Manager

  • Established product management practices as de facto head of product responsible for business analyst, technical author and data scientist

  • Drove quality and stability improvements for eSearch archive management product used primarily by film and sound, and oil and gas market sectors
